Oceania Cruises, a world leading culinary- and destination-focused cruise line, has welcomed its newest ship – Vista. Delivered at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Genoa, Italy, Oceania Cruises’ initial Allura Class ship features several firsts in the realms of dining, accommodation and guest experience.
The 67,000-ton, 791-foot-long ship is one of the most anticipated new ships to join the global cruise fleet in 2023. The 1,200-guest Vista boasts the most spacious standard staterooms at sea, three brand-new dining concepts and operates with a market-leading service ratio of two staff members for every three guests.
Vista’s Debut
During its inaugural voyage, Vista was officially christened in Valletta, Malta, by Vista’s godmother, celebrated Italian-American chef, author, restaurateur and Emmy Award-winning food personality Giada De Laurentiis. Legendary Grammy and Emmy award-winning musician Harry Connick, Jr. serenaded passengers and visiting dignitaries in a pier-side ceremony. Passengers were then treated to a July 4th-worthy fireworks display.
“Today we usher in a new era for Oceania Cruises with the delivery of Vista,” said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. “We could not have built such an exceptional ship without the close partnership enjoyed with Fincantieri. We thank each and every person who had a hand in bringing her to life. From the smallest of design details to the largest per capita galley at sea, Vista is a marvel that will be enjoyed by guests for decades to come.”
Due to the high anticipation for Vista, only a few select staterooms remain for the inaugural summer season in the Mediterranean. During the remainder of its inaugural season, Vista will sail to Canada and New England before heading south for a series of winter itineraries exploring the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.
Vista’s Onboard Experiences
Dining
Vista builds on Oceania Cruises’ exemplary reputation of destination-rich itineraries with world-class service and The Finest Cuisine at Sea®. Vista offers 11 culinary venues, three of which are new concepts – Ember, a signature restaurant featuring elevated American cuisine; Aquamar Kitchen, which brings wellness offerings to a new level; and The Bakery at Baristas, an expansion of popular coffee bar Baristas, serving freshly baked French and Italian pastries.
In addition to an elevated mixology program with innovative specialty cocktails. Oceania partnered with multi-award-winning whisky brand Chapter 7 to create an exclusive 20-year-old small-batch cask of whisky to celebrate the launch of Vista and the brand’s 20th anniversary.
Entertainment
Vista will feature show-stopping entertainment options with its new line-up of Broadway-caliber productions. Three uniquely designed shows will feature recognizable songs by some of the world’s most beloved artists and contemporary dance numbers led by “Dancing with the Stars” choreographer Britt Stewart.
Accommodations
Vista’s all-balcony staterooms start at 240 square feet for the entry level French Veranda cabin. The new Concierge Solo Veranda stateroom is 270 square feet and the Veranda and Concierge Veranda staterooms are 291 square feet. The luxurious suites are generous in size: ranging from the Penthouse Suites at 440 square feet to the Owner’s Suites at a spacious 2,200-2,400 square feet. All suite guests have unlimited use of the Aquamar Spa Terrace along with Butler service and keycard access to the suites-only Executive Lounge staffed by a dedicated Concierge.
Public Areas
Vista features Oceania’s new Signature Spaces – sophisticated and distinctive areas designed to deliver Oceania’s hallmark small ship luxury with a fresh new perspective. Guests begin their new cruise at the Grand Staircase, where every new Oceania Cruises journey begins. A crystal light fixture resembles a two-story flowing waterfall and sets the tone for the voyage ahead.
Public areas are all spacious and chic with comfortable seating at every turn. There are several excellent Picasso’s on display as well as many other contemporary artists, such as Cuban Miguel Florido.
The Pool Deck features a new design that creates the perfect onboard escape with a modern beach-club cabana. Guests can go for a refreshing swim or relax in the two pool-side hot tubs. There is also a large tanning ledge with a shallow platform to walk, sit or lay in the water.
