Explora I – Grand Penthouse
Explora Journeys unveiled the design of its Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences onboard Explora I, the first of a planned fleet of up to six luxury ships. Last year, Explora announced its unique design philosophy for its 461 ocean-front suites – what Explora has aptly named “Homes at Sea.”
The design reflects the brand’s philosophy of creating an ‘Ocean State of Mind’ with elements such as natural light, color, and space. Every guest will experience an opulent, yet intimate retreat as they embark on their ocean journey.
Explora I is scheduled to begin its maiden season in July 2023.
Explora I – Serenity Residence Terrace
Ocean Residences
The Ocean Residences range from and Ocean Residences range from 753 to 1,604 square feet (including terrace) and offer elegant spaces, including separate living, dining and sleeping areas. They feature a panoramic oceanfront terrace with a private outdoor whirlpool, a dining table and sun loungers.
The names of the residences – Cocoon, Cove, Retreat and Serenity – reflect the calming effects of the ocean and the home-at-sea feeling. The Cocoon and Serenity Residences feature unique wrap-around terraces, while the Cocoon, Serenity and Retreat residences offer a separate bathtub and walk-in-shower.
All Ocean Residences are served by a dedicated team of Residence Hosts providing butler services 24 hours a day.
Explora I – Deluxe Penthouse
Ocean Penthouses
The Ocean Penthouses range from 463 to 732 square feet (including terrace) with oceanfront floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive terraces to unwind and relax.
The Ocean Penthouses have a dining area for four and a large seating area. All have a walk-in wardrobe with a seated vanity area and feature heated floors in the bathrooms, binoculars, wireless bed-side charging, a personal mini-bar replenished according to the guests’ preferences, an espresso machine with biodegradable pods, a kettle and teapot, and a complimentary personal refillable water bottle for each guest.
Inside the Suites
Explora Journeys is working with Italian furniture company Molteni&C to furnish sofas, chairs and some outdoor furniture in suites. Also, suite terraces have been furnished with pieces by Manutti, one of the world’s leading luxury outdoor furniture brands. Luxury bed and bath linens are from Frette.
Each suite will feature a master artwork in the living room along with additional complementary pieces and curated decorative elements.
For the ultimate workout, Explora I will feature in-suite fitness equipment by Technogym. Ocean Penthouses will be equipped with the Technogym Kit, while Ocean Residences will have an additional Technogym Bench available for guests.
Guests will be welcomed onboard with a chilled bottle of champagne: Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label in Ocean Suites, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2015 in Ocean Penthouses and Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013 in Ocean Residences.
The luxury cruise line’s first ship, Explora I, is scheduled to begin its maiden season with Northern Europe cruise – to Belgium, Norway, and Denmark – in July 2023.
