Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Smithsonian Institution have announced a joint onboard enrichment program, the Smithsonian Collection by Smithsonian Journeys. A wide range of specialists will lead the enrichment programs — from noted art historians to leading authors to former diplomats — and share their first-hand knowledge and expertise.
Smithsonian Collection cruises will allow Regent guests to delve deeper into an area’s history, architecture, and culture. The program is completely interactive, encouraging guests to participate in insightful discussions with informative Q & A sessions and exchange ideas on a personal level in social settings.
Guests who want to fully immerse themselves in the destinations can join select onshore excursions led by the Smithsonian speaker.
“This partnership gives our guests access to some of the most authoritative thought-leaders in the world, providing deeper insights into the history, art, culture and politics of the destinations visited by our ships,” said Jason Montague, president and chief operating officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
Starting in July 2015, The Smithsonian Collection will be available on more than 80 voyages during the 2015/16 season. Featured itineraries include South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean.
