Itinerary at a Glance
DAY 1: Arrive New Orleans, Louisiana
Transfer from Louis Armstrong International Airport to Hotel Monteleone. Evening welcome cocktail reception, followed by dinner at the hotel. (D)
DAY 2: New Orleans
TExplore iconic Canal Street, the historic homes, boutiques and cafés of the Warehouse District, and the Mississippi River waterfront. Discover the French Quarter from venerable Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral and the fabled Bourbon Street on a guided walking tour. Private cooking demonstration at the New Orleans School of Cooking. Attend an exclusive. (B,L,D)
DAY 3: New Orleans
Begin the day with a flightseeing tour of New Orleans with commentary by your pilot. You’ll also learn about the unique geological environment of New Orleans, America’s only city situated below sea level at a private lecture. The afternoon and evening are free to explore New Orleans. (B)
DAY 4: Baton Rouge
Depart New Orleans for an alligator bayou tour in an excursion boat with a local guide. Continue to Baton Rouge for lunch at a local restaurant and guided visit to the Old State Capitol before arriving at Nottoway Resort – an 1850’s sugarcane estate. Enjoy a guided tour and a private mint julep reception, followed by an elegant private dinner, accompanied by a string quartet. (B,L,D)
DAY 5: Baton Rouge & Mississippi River Country
Visit Houmas House and Gardens along the “big bend” of the Mississippi River. A docent provides insider information on a guided historic house tour; afterwards have lunch and stroll through some of its 38 acres of exquisite gardens. This afternoon, visit Whitney Plantation and a guided walking tour of it’s memorials and restored buildings. (B,L,D)
DAY 6: New Orleans
Return to New Orleans this morning and a guided visit of the National World War II Museum, beginning with a viewing of the award-winning multi-media experience “Beyond All Boundaries,” produced and narrated by Tom Hanks. Afterwards, check into the The Ritz-Carlton in the French Quarter and enjoy the evening at your leisure. (B,L)
DAY 7: New Orleans
Continue your tour of New Orleans with sightseeing and walking tour in the Garden District. Hop aboard an authentic New Orleans streetcar a private streetcar tour along Canal Street and St. Charles Avenue. Return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring more of New Orleans at your leisure. This evening is at famed Arnaud’s Restaurant for a private farewell jazz reception, followed by dinner. (B,D)
DAY 8: Depart New Orleans
Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
