Crystal Cruises, the ultra-luxury cruise line – and 19 time winner of the Travel + Leisure’s World Best – recently announced it will be relaxing its evening attire dress code. The move to a more simplified dress code is based on feedback from its guests, according to Crystal. The updated dress code is now just two categories: Crystal Casual and Optional Black Tie.

“With just two straight-forward evening attire preferences, we ease the stress of packing and planning, and put the focus on the excitement of the voyage ahead,” said Crystal President and COO Edie Rodriguez.

Crystal Casual dress code calls for a dressed up version of casual looks. For women, Crystal Casual includes a dress, or a blouse or sweater and skirt or dressy slacks. Men’s Crystal Casual attire can include a sport coat, dress shirt, button-down shirt, open-collar or collared polo shirt and dress pants.  (No tie required.)

A Black-tie Optional evening offers guests an opportunity to dress more formally on a special evening(s). For men, this includes a dark suit with tie or tuxedo; for women, this includes a formal cocktail dress, evening gown or dressy evening separates. On Black Tie Optional evenings, it is requested a jacket to be worn by men and dress, skirts or dressy slacks and blouse or sweater be worn by women. Jeans may not be worn in any dining venues or lounges, including the Casino on Black Tie Optional evenings.
