Oceania Cruises recently welcomed Regatta back to its fleet following an extensive dry dock. Regatta’s return to service marks the culmination of the most massive refurbishment in Oceania Cruises’ history – a $50 million makeover of its original trio of ships from bow to stern. Sister ships Nautica and Insignia emerged from dry dock and reentered service last month.
MAKEOVER HIGHLIGHTS
Oceania wanted the makeover to offer a new sense of style and grace, while maintaining the elegance and warmth Oceania guests have come to love on these 684-passenger ships. The multimillion dollar makeover brings many of the interior design elements from the award-winning Marina and Riviera to these sister ships.
Elegant new furnishings and décor has been added to all public areas, suites and staterooms. Significant updates were made to the Owner’s,Vista and Penthouse suites. The enhancements also included several new guest experiences, including the ever-popular Baristas coffee bar and a cook-to-order grill at Terrace Café.
Shuffleboard courts and miniature golf were added to the Sports Deck, luxurious new sun beds on the Pool Deck, and the Canyon Ranch SpaClub exudes a sense of tranquility with its new décor and mosaic tile displays.
“We wanted to ensure our guests received the same upscale cruise experience and exceptional value no matter which Oceania Cruises ship they sail, and based on early guest feedback this $50 million refurbishment is a homerun,” said Kunal S. Kamlani, president of Oceania Cruises.
In preparation for two special 180-day voyages, a version of the Artist Loft enrichment center was added exclusively to Insignia during its dry dock. The “Around the World in 180 Days” cruise departs from Miami on Jan. 10, 2015, and the “180 Day World Odyssey” sails from Miami on July 8, 2015.
Regatta is considered the Flagship of the Oceania Cruises fleet. She set sail this month to begin Oceania’s summer season in Alaska. The Nautica will sail the Mediterranean and Northern Europe this summer and fall.
