Oceania Cruises has completed a major renovation of the Riviera as part of the brand’s OceaniaNEXT fleet-wide enhancements. The recent drydock took place in Marseille, France.

Bar Istas – New Coffee Bar & Lounge

On of the most dramatic changes is the addition of Bar Istas, a new coffee bar and lounge on Deck 14. Featuring sweeping sea views, the lounge sports a design of silvery-grey and sea greens punctuated with gold and ebony and white marble accents, as well as a silver Victoria Arduino espresso machine, known as the “Rolls Royce of Coffee Machines”.

Concierge, Veranda & Penthouse Suites – New Look

Riviera’s Concierge and Veranda staterooms, as well as its Penthouse Suites, were updated with a new look. Inspired by the recently revamped Insignia and Sirena, the rooms’ walnut paneling and upholstered headboards are now offset with tones of espresso, caramel and ivory in the new carpeting and fabrics.

Owner’s Suites – New Furnishings

The three Owner’s Suites, furnished exclusively with the Ralph Lauren Home Collection, were also revamped. Guests now enter through a foyer with a limestone and black cabochon inset floor, walls of inset Georgian wood paneling and a mahogany and quartzite bar. The floor-to-ceiling provide dramatic sea views and are dressed in Ralph Lauren Home Grimaldi-weave sail fabric.

The recent renovations extend beyond aesthetics, embracing a harmony of luxury and functionality that defines modern elegance. Each detail of the Owner’s Suites reflects a thoughtful curation of materials and design, from the limestone and black cabochon floors to the mahogany and quartzite accents that exude timeless sophistication. These updates are a testament to blending classic styles with contemporary comforts, creating spaces that elevate the guest experience to unmatched heights.

Such attention to detail in design also extends to functional elements, ensuring a harmonious flow throughout the space. For example, integrating high-quality commercial doors not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also ensures durability and soundproofing, vital for maintaining privacy and comfort in a luxury setting. These subtle yet significant upgrades speak to the broader vision of the renovation, where every element—from furnishings to structural components—has been thoughtfully curated. A self-playing piano helps with in-suite entertaining.

The living room of the Owner’s Suites is anchored by a new deep-navy sectional accented with saddle-suede and accompanied by a mahogany Lounge Modenre chair upholstered in navy and white Super-Yacht Stripe. The centerpiece of the dining room is the Mayfair dining table with a new Barrett Knurled chandelier overhead.

In the master suite, there is a new Cote D’Azure king-size bed, Mayfair Bergere side chairs upholstered in Sutton Suede Doe and nickel-trimmed lighting accents. The wraparound teak verandas have pieces that were custom-crafted by Ralph Lauren for Oceania Cruises.

As part of OceaniaNEXT, Riviera’s sister ship, the Marina, will receive similar renovations in May 2020.
