Oceania Marina Will Have Major Refurbishment in 2024

Oceania Marina, Sydney, Australia

Oceania Marina

Oceania Marina, Oceania Cruises 1,250-passenger ship, the Marina, will undergo an all-encompassing refurbishment in May 2024.

The refurbishment will include the addition of three new dining options:

  1. Aquamar Kitchen, the new wellness-focused dining venue which debuted on Vista, Oceania’s newest ship.
  2. An expanded poolside ice cream parlor serving flavors from artisan ice cream company Humphry Slocombe.
  3. A new casual al fresco trattoria offering Italian dishes, including freshly-made pizzas.

Marina is the last of Oceania Cruises’ current fleet of ships to be refurbished. Its eighth ship, Allura, is set to launch in 2025.

“Marina is a ship designed by foodies, built by foodies, for foodies,” said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. “We are renowned for serving The Finest Cuisine at Sea, and this is not just a tagline, it is a mantra which we have built the business around. Food is the foundation of what we do onboard each of our ships, and globally, in the destinations we visit.”

New Dining Options

One of the culinary additions to Marina will be Aquamar Kitchen, a new Oceania Cruises signature restaurant with wellness-inspired menus. It is open for breakfast and lunch.

Smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and energy bowls will be among the breakfast options. The lunch menu will offer healthy choices including avocado toast and internationally-influenced salads and wraps. Among the heartier alternatives are tacos made with yellowfin tuna, an Impossible Burger, and a crispy chicken sandwich.

In the evening, Waves Grill will transform into an al fresco trattoria featuring freshly made pizzas, Italian specialties, spicy dry-rubbed chicken wings, salads, rosemary focaccia with burrata and tempting desserts.

An all-day ice cream parlor will be added to the pool deck. Favorite flavors, including inventive options from Humphry Slocombe, along with milkshakes and smoothies, will be available for guests looking for an afternoon poolside treat.

Refreshed Suite & Public Spaces

Marina’s private and public spaces will be refreshed as well. All upper suites will have a revamped look – lighter, brighter and seemingly even more spacious thanks to cleverly designed new features.

The Penthouse Suites will be completely refurbished with custom-crafted furniture as well as new closets and cabinetry to increase guest storage space, plus new carpets and upholstery, updated modern lighting and more outlets and USB ports. Each Penthouse Suite will have a sleek restyled bathroom with distinctive Italian marble throughout, abundant drawer space, and generous over-sized showers.

Favorite public spaces including Polo Grill, Martinis, Horizons, The Grand Dining Room and the library will be updated with plush new carpets, refreshed upholstery, and window treatments.

Marina’s new refurbished look will debut on May 18, 2024 with a 14-Night Classical Mediterranean cruise.
