Celebrity Cruises will offer new glassblowing classes on three of their cruise ships, beginning with the Celebrity Equinox in February. These classes will feature both a live demonstration as well as a new hands-on component.
Hollywood Hot Glass will host the live glassblowing demonstration on the Lawn Club at the beginning of the cruise. After the live demo, guests can register for the Hot Glass Class, available throughout the itinerary, where they will work with an instructor to create their own piece of art from molten glass.
“We’re always working to identify new and exciting opportunities for our guests on board, and we really feel that our new partnership with Hollywood Hot Glass is the perfect evolution of our past hot glass offering,” said Brian Abel, Vice President, Hotel Operations, Celebrity Cruises.
In each class, participants will be able to choose from eight pieces – including a vase, starfish, flower, and ornament – and select from a variety of colors. After a 12-hour cool down period, each piece will be wrapped in protective packaging, ready for guests to take home with them.
In addition to the Celebrity Equinox, glassblowing classes will also be offered on Celebrity Eclipse beginning in April and on Celebrity Solstice beginning in June.
