Crystal Cruises’ first luxury riverboat, the Crystal Mozart, launched its inaugural season with its July maiden voyage along the Danube River. This voyage marks the beginning of a new era for Crystal, with the launch of Crystal River Cruises.
Crystal Mozart is the largest European river cruise ship and the most luxurious – it exudes modern elegance from every corner. Simply put, the vessel is nothing short of spectacular.
Its all-inclusive experience featuring spacious suites, personal butlers, the highest guest-to-crew ratio in river cruising, world-class cuisine and the only river ship with a full wrap-around promenade.
On Crystal Deck 3, a seating area frames a grand faux fireplace where water vapor is lit to approximate flame. The nearby Cove lounge is intimate and chic, while Palm Court can seat all 158 guests in various configurations surrounding a shiny black piano.
In all, Crystal Mozart offers four dining venues, an unprecedented number for a riverboat. In addition to the Bistro coffee bar and cafe, The Vintage Room and Blue, the elegantly appointed Waterside main dining room, serves inventive farm-to-table cuisine, which includes breakfast and lunch buffets, and open seating dining at night with a selection of truly excellent wines.
On the uppermost deck, Vista Deck 4, a pop-up bar sets the scenes for celebrations under the stars while during the day guests can attend a yoga session or relax in expansive sun loungers as they sail along the Danube River.
The Crystal Life Spa is the largest spa on any river cruise with an indoor pool and fully equipped pool, fitness and salon facilities.
Crystal Mozart is the most technologically advanced river ship in the world. Each suite offers Apple® iPad devices that serve as Digital Directories for virtually all of guests’ on-board needs, from dry cleaning and butler service to room service and dining reservations, as well as concierge and Crystal Adventures inquiries and more.
The all-suite vessel carries 154 guests in accommodations that include two 883-square-foot two-bedroom Crystal Suites with French balconies, 12 Penthouse suites with French balconies, 22 suites with French balconies, and 41 suites with picture windows.
All suites come with Crystal butler service and are equipped with king-sized beds, walk-in closets, Nespresso machines, 40-inch flat screen televisions and digital iPad directories. The marble bathrooms have televisions embedded into mirrors, heated towel racks and TOTO Washlet systems, which provide an electronic bidet of sorts, along with heated toilet seats that open and close automatically.
Guests are privy to an array of complimentary shore excursion options, including dinners at Michelin-starred restaurants. Guests will also be offered a Signature evening event at Vienna’s Belvedere Palace, for a Champagne reception, private access to the museum and a concert showcasing the works Mozart and Strauss.
Thirty electronic bikes are available for guided tours or personal exploration, and all of Crystal’s river yachts will have their own Italian-made, 32-foot Wider speedboats, ready to whisk guests away on a private excursion or tour for an extra fee.
The 154-person ship will sail along the Danube River and visit ports in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, and Serbia. With four additional river yachts planned by the end of next summer, the Crystal River Cruises fleet is set to be the standard of river cruising.
