DAY 1: Arrive Melbourne, Australia
Transfer from Melbourne Airport to your hotel. Your journey begins with a welcome cocktail reception followed by dinner at the hotel. (D)
DAY 2: Victorian Charms | Melbourne
Guided sightseeing tour of Melbourne in the morning. The rest of the day and evening is on your own. (B)
DAY 3: Ayers Rock & the Outback | Uluru
Board a private charter flight to the heart of Australia’s desert Outback, arriving at Ayers Rock (Uluru) for lunch and an overnight stay at Sails in the Desert. In the evening, enjoy the every-changing colors of the sunset on the Rock with canapés and champagne. (B, L)
DAY 4: Mysteries of Uluru & Flight to Cairns
Guided tour of Ayers Rock in the morning, followed by a private charter flight to Cairns, gateway to the amazing Great Barrier Reef. Board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, disembarking in the mountain village of Kuranda and on to the Silky Oaks Lodge, adjacent to Daintree National Park, for a three-night stay. (B, D)
DAY 5: Great Barrier Reef Cruise
Spend a full day exploring one of Earth’s most incredible “living” sites, the Great Barrier Reef – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only living structure on Earth visible from the moon. Activity choices include a catamaran cruise to the Agincourt Reef; an adventure boat trip for scuba divers and snorkelers; a helicopter ride over the reefs; or a relaxing spa day at the lodge. DAY 6: Day at Leisure | Optional Balloon Ride
The day is free to spend at the rainforest resort and spa or to explore the area. Early risers may choose an optional hot air balloon ride at dawn over the Atherton Tablelands (additional charge per person; see Pricing). (B, L, D).
DAY 7: Crocodile Adventures & Flight to Sydney
It’s all about crocodiles at Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures; have a meet and greet with a crocodile and blue tongue lizard and snake. Visit a private enclosure where you’ll have an opportunity to hold a koala and have your photo taken. Take an exclusive boat cruise on the lagoon. After lunch, fly to Sydney via private charter. DAY 8: Sydney Harbour Cruise & Foodie Tour
Morning cruise on Sydney Harbour complete with spectacular views of Sydney landmarks. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, taste your way through culinary nooks and crannies on a Foodie Tour. Continue with a guided city tour. Dinner will be a “dine-around” from your choice of several select local restaurants. (B, D)
DAY 9: Sydney Opera House
One of Australia’s most famous iconic sights takes center stage today when you visit the amazing Sydney Opera House on a personally guided tour. The remainder of the day and evening are yours to spend as you wish. (B)
DAY 10: G’day to Australia, Hello to New Zealand
Bid Australia a fond farewell this morning and board a flight across the Tasman Sea for New Zealand. First stop is Wellington, New Zealand’s intimate waterfront capital with an impressive artistic and cultural edge. (B, D)
DAY 11: Wonders of Wellington
Discover Wellington on a tour that begins with a cable car ride up to the city’s Botanic Gardens and great views of the city and harbor. Next up is Te Papa Tongarewa, New Zealand’s national museum, where you’ll learn about the country’s exceptional nature, art, history, and the Pacific and Maori culture. (B)
DAY 12: Blenheim & the Marlborough Sounds
Take a charter flight to Blenheim on New Zealand’s South Island for a two-night stay in the heart of the Marlborough wine country, one of the most beautiful and picturesque areas in the country. Sample freshly caught green-lipped mussels along with local wines on a luncheon cruise. (B, L, D)
DAY 13: Farm Life & “Dinner with the Warbirds”
Visit a working private farm for a sheep shearing demonstration and enjoy morning tea with the farmer and his family. Continue on to Brancott Winery for a wine tasting, followed by a three-course lunch with matching wines at the Brancott Heritage Centre. In the evening, enjoy a Tauck Exclusive Event – a visit to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre and “Dinner with the Warbirds”. Includes a three-course dinner featuring Marlborough produce and wines and a tour of the museum, which houses an incredible collection of World War I and II aircraft and memorabilia. (B, L, D)
DAY 14: Fly to Manapouri (Te Anau)
Today, depart Blenheim on a charter flight to Manapouri (Te Anau) in the magnificent Fiordlands region. After lunch, the rest of the day is on your own. (B, L)
DAY 15: Fjordland National Park & Milford Sound
Take a dramatic drive through New Zealand’s Fiordland National Park, then set off aboard a private boat (with a naturalist onboard) for a scenic nature luncheon cruise among the sheer cliffs and glacier-hewn inlets of beautiful Milford Sound. (B, L, D)
DAY 16: Drive & Winery Lunch in Queensland
Enjoy beautiful South Island landscapes on your drive to Queenstown, where you’ll have lunch at the Amisfield Winery. Set in an iconic stone building with gorgeous mountain views, it is known for its Pinot Noir. (B, L)
DAY 17: Jet Boat & Helicopter Rides
Today’s thrilling high-speed jet boat ride through the rapids and narrow gorges of Skippers Canyon on the Shotover River, followed by a helicopter ride, will be memorable highlights of Tauck’s tours to Australia and New Zealand. Head back down the mountain via Skyline gondola to spend the rest of the day as you wish. (B)
DAY 18: Flight to Auckland & Maori Culture
Travel via private charter flight from Queenstown to Auckland, arriving in time for lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy an afternoon visit to the Auckland Museum with a Maori cultural presentation. (B, L, D)
DAY 19: Wine Tasting on Waiheke Island
Take a ferry ride to nearby Waiheke Island, a mecca of farmland, forest, beaches, and vineyard. Enjoy a unique wine tasting and lunch at Mudbrick Vineyard. In the evening, enjoy a farewell cocktail reception and dinner at your hotel. (B, L, D)
DAY 20: Depart Auckland
