Celebrity Cruises marks fifth consecutive
year of top rankings in Conde Nast Traveler's annual review.
In the large-ship category, Celebrity's entire Millennium-class fleet -
Constellation,
Summit,
Infinity
and
Millennium
- ranked first through fourth, respectively, marking the second consecutive year
the line has held every spot from one through four. Celebrity's
Galaxy
(ranked eighth) rounded out the top 10.
Century,
which completed a $55-million revitalization in May 2006 - one month after the
annual survey was conducted - earned a 16th-place ranking, followed by sister
ship,
Mercury
- which will receive an extensive series of upgrades in April. Full survey
results are published in the February edition of Conde Nast
Traveler.
Celebrity also is celebrating a "three-peat" in its sweep of
the survey's rankings in the category of food/dining, capturing all four top
spots. The line also earned the top rating for best crew/service, and the
highest marks in design/layout. More than 33,000 discerning Conde Nast Traveler
subscribers evaluated cruise lines on seven criteria: crew/service, food/dining,
design/layout, itineraries, shore excursions, cabins and
activities/facilities.
"Conde Nast Traveler's annual readers' survey is
one of the most meaningful polls in the business, and comes at a time when
Celebrity is embarking on a particularly exciting period of growth and
momentum," said Celebrity's President Dan Hanrahan. "We're thrilled with this
recognition, and committed to continuing to offer our guests an experience that
inspires them to honor our brand in this way."
Celebrity Cruises offers
comfortably sophisticated, upscale cruise experiences with highly personalized
service, authentic five-star dining, and extraordinary attention to detail.
Celebrity sails in Alaska, Antarctica, Bermuda, California, Caribbean, Europe,
Galapagos Islands, Hawaii, Mexican Riviera, Panama Canal and South America, and
will begin sailing in
Australia and
New Zealand this year. The line also offers unique land-tour vacations in
Alaska, Canada, Europe and Australia through its cruisetour division. Noted for
"The World's Best Large Ships," as voted by the readers of Conde' Nast Traveler
(February 2007 Cruise Poll), Celebrity's current fleet will be joined by
Celebrity
Journey and
Celebrity
Quest this year, Celebrity Solstice in 2008, Celebrity Equinox in 2009,
and Celebrity Eclipse in 2010.
