Following suit with other cruise lines, Celebrity Cruises, sister line Azamara Cruises and parent company Royal Caribbean International announced today that fuel surcharges will be eliminated for all sailings after January 1st, 2009.
- For those that have already made final payment for their 2009 cruise: The fuel supplement will be fully refunded to you as an onboard credit.
- For those that have not made final payment on their 2009 cruise: The final balance will be reduced to fully refund the fuel supplement.
The companies will consider reimplementing the fuel surcharge if the price of West Texas Crude raises above $65/barrel. Friday's close was at $40.81/barrel.
