This is the first in a series of blog posting detailing our pre-inaugural sailing on the
Celebrity Solstice. With over 200 pictures that we'd like to share, we'll make separate blog posts for each area of the ship to keep the images more organized and easier to view.
Last week we were onboard the newest ship in the Celebrity fleet, Celebrity Solstice. After arriving at her home port of Ft. Lauderdale on the 3rd of November, she's on a series of 2 night "cruises to nowhere" showing off for Celebrity execs, media VIP's and high producing sales professions. The first revenue cruise departs Ft. Lauderdale on November 23rd. Celebrity Solstice will sail 7-night
Eastern Caribbean voyages until mid-April, 2009 when she makes an Eastbound Transatlantic moving to her home port of Rome. From Rome she'll sail alternating 10 and 11-night
Eastern Mediterranean voyages until late November, 2009.
Looking at the many blogs, articles and reviews of Celebrity Solstice, I can't find anyone that isn't thrilled with this ship. She is indeed beautiful, amazing and a true to the standards of Celebrity in every way. The only disagreement seems to be on the best, most fabulous feature or area onboard Celebrity Solstice. Probably the area that has generated the most talk is the top deck's Lawn Club. You've probably already heard about it - they have REAL, growing grass onboard! And, it's not just a small patch of grass - there's a huge lawn between the ship's stacks and two other strips, perfect for golf putting or lawn bowling, that run all the way to the aft Sunset Bar. Tucked under the forward stack is another much talked about area, the Hot Glass Show - a permanent installation for glass blowing created by Corning Glass.
