celebrity solsticeCelebrity Cruises will offer live glass-blowing on the Celebrity Solstice, due out in December 2008. Celebrity entered into a partnership with the Corning Museum of Glass, which created the "Hot Glass Show" that will take place at the aft of the ship's upper deck. The show "will present the history and craft of glassblowing, from its ancient origins to its current countless uses. Three gaffers (the artisans who blow glass) will educate and entertain cruisers with live glassmaking shows, lectures and workshops." Some of the details have not been announced yet. The line has not established how many demonstrations there will be during a cruise but there will be several at least. Also, while Celebrity said there will be guest involvement with the glass-blowing, it hasn't been worked out completely what that will be. For more information on the Celebrity Solstice, visit
