Arriving back in the New York area to sunny, dry conditions around 6am, the ship is quickly cleared by US customs and the disembarkation announcements begin. As is typical, travelers with early air connections are disembarked first, followed by anyone that happens to be on shore excursions followed by the remainder of the guests. On large ships, this process can take hours and hours. We're pleasantly surprised as our group is called only about 30 minutes into disembarkation. Again, a great benefit of a smaller ship.
As we're waiting for our announcment, we have the opportunity to view some of the other stateroom layouts including the Royal Suite, a Sky Suite, a Sunset Veranda and an Oceanview with Balcony. See the attached pictures.
Overall we rate this cruise as excellent. While there are some obvious places that Azamara is still in a sort of "shake down" mode, they have come a long way from that first day that the ship was introduced. And, with the ongoing improvements on this ship, the introduction of sister ship
Azamara Quest should go extremely smoothly. With longer itineraries, and almost unlimited exotic destinations, this is going to be a great addition to the RCCL family of cruise products.
