Egypt Travel Information and things to do in Cairo and Giza

 

Sorry about those few mistakes I made on the other post. My stupid computer is acting up. I am going to Cairo and Giza, Egypt in July, so here is some info Egypt travelers, like me, will need to know.

 

Is Egypt Safe?

YES!!!!!! Egypt is extremely safe, with nice people. Some people consider Egypt being the Middle East, but actually, it is north Africa. Egypt is highly safe.

What should woman wear in Egypt?

Keep your shoulders covered, and don't wear shorts above the knees. Pretty much what I am saying is don't look like a whore. Do not wear Spaghetti Straps. Do not have cleavage. Your shirt must be past your shoulders.  You do not have to cover your head, just make sure you put your hair up. You can wear sandals or tennis shoes. Make sure, like in any country, you give the people  respect.

What religion is Egypt?

Egypt is a Muslim country.

What is something I will not want to miss?

Do not miss the Great Pyramids of Giza, and the Great Sphinx! The Great Pyramid of Giza (The largest pyramid) is the only one of the seven ancient wonders of the world that is still standing. Also they have dug up tombs and temples in Egypt, do not miss that as well. There are also more pyramids in Giza. They are right behind the Great pyramid and his friends, ha ha ha!

 

What is the best hotel in Cairo?

The best is Le Meridien Pyramids Resort, this is where I am staying. I have a room where you can view the pyramids right from my window and balcony! This resort allows guest to stay in a hotel you only have dreamed of, for a awsome price! The pool is a pyramid view pool. So while you are swimming, you can view the pyramids. It also has a nice Tiki bar that you swim over to, to get your drink. How cool. I am definantly excited about staying there, and I recommend this amazing hotel with a great price. What is Egyptian money called?

Egyptian pound.

How do I get Egyptian pound?

Order it by asking your local AAA, perchase a Visa Buxx (Note that you can find a ATM to take money from the Visa Buxx, and get bills for you.), or take American money to Egypt, and they will gladly exchange it for you at the airport or a bank.

Where do I shop in Cairo?

Perchase a city walk, and they will give you plenty of time to shop around the markets. Or just walk around on your own, if your not scared of getting lost. Khan El-Khalili is a really nice market, do visit there.

 

Is Cairo large?

Cairo is huge. It is larger, and has more population than New York City. It is the largest city in Africa.

 

Do I need passports and visas?

Of course, you need a passport to go out of the country anywhere now. You will also need a visa. Go online and get passport and visa applications, or visit your local AAA. You will need to visit AAA anyways, for passport and visa photos, I did both of mine with AAA. I recommend doing this through AAA.

Is Egypt expensive?

For flying internationally, it is a damn good price, expecially with CheapOAir. Go on to cheapoair.com, and you can find amazing plane ticket prices.

Pharonic Villiage

This is a very cool place. It is where modern Egyptians dress up as ancient Egyptians. You will get to see what ancient Egyptians did through everyday life.

 

Pyramids of Giza, Great Pyramid of Giza, and the Great Sphinx

These are the best attractions in all Egypt! Pyramids and Sphinxes are all over the world, but there is nothing like these! I can't wait to see the Pyramids and Sphinx.

They found a huge statue in Giza too, so yes I strongly recommend Cairo and Giza for they have the most to see and do in all Egypt. Go to Cairo and Giza, its the best!
