Sailing the Mekong River

Arriving Phnom Penh

Arriving Phnom Penh

On Tuesday before departing Kampong Cham, the AMALotus offers a local excursion to a Buddha Garden and an orphanage. Back on board, we have lunch while the ship sails to Peam Chi Kang to visit a Buddhist Temple and Monastery. After our evening briefing and dinner, the ship arrives at Chong Kok mooring midstream overnight.

On Wednesday the morning excursion visits the silk weaving village of Chong Kok.  After returning from the excursion, the ship sails for Phnom Penh, the capital and largest city in Cambodia.  Arriving around 3PM, we have an opportunity for a short stroll down the river with our guides as they point out some of the sights that we’ll be visiting during our 2 night stay here in Phnom Penh.
