Tuesday brings a much needed day to relax as we sail toward our first stop in Puerto Chiapas, Mexico. Puerto Chiapas occupies a narrow strip of land bordered between the Pacific Ocean and Guatemala and is rarely visited by mass-market cruise lines. We're looking forward to taking our first "inclusive" Regent shore excursion.
This morning we spend about 4 hours working...setting up our onboard internet account, catching up on email and posting yesterdays blog entry. The pricing for internet services starts at .75/min and drops to .25/min for a 800 minute package. This rate is comparable with other cruise lines.
After enjoying "Burger Heaven Lunch" served at the Pool-side Grill, we finish exploring the ship and return to the room. Regent has a huge selection of on-demand movies available through the stateroom TV all at no additional cost. Many recent titles include television shows only 1 season old such as Glee, Boston Legal and movies such as 10,000 BC and A League of Their Own. Over 250 titles are available.
Dinner tonight is in the main dining room, Compass Rose. The food is on par with Signatures, but the environment is a bit too busy for my enjoyment. I prefer the smaller, quieter venues such as Signatures and Prime 7 (which we're scheduled to dine at the last night of the cruise). Following dinner it was a quick review of the activities of the various bars and lounges and then off to bed.
More tomorrow from Puerto Chiapas!
