Randy Boardwalk Carousel |
By walking all the way through the Royal Promenade, and taking an elevator or stairway up one deck, you'll arrive at the outdoor Boardwalk. Situated on Deck Six, the Boardwalk looks like a Coney Island seaside pier. The first thing you notice on the Boardwalk is the beautiful hand carved wooden Carousel. In fact, leading up to the Carousel are two rough cut blocks of wood showing the progression of carving the finished Carousel animals.
Looking up toward the open sky, you'll see some of the over 200 Boardwalk view balcony staterooms on Oasis. These staterooms occupy decks Eight through Fourteen. If you look carefully, you may see the Zip Line passing overhead on Deck Fifteen. These staterooms will provide some of the best views of the Boardwalk and the Aqua Theatre, but will not be the most private or quietest balconies available.
Strolling toward the back of the ship, you'll find shops and restaurants including the favorite Johnny Rockets, an Ice Cream Parlor, a Donut Shop and a Candy store. Seafood Shack is a new restaurant concept on Oasis, and based on the lines that were constantly waiting out front, will be very popular. Put your name on the list, take a pager and relax nearby at the Boardwalk Bar – one of the best people watching venues onboard.
At the end of the Boardwalk you'll find the Aqua Theatre stretching across the entire back of the ship. Flanking both sides of this area are two, 45-foot high rock climbing walls. The Aqua Theatre is a true theatre, with over 600 seats facing the rear of the ship and a kidney shaped pool in the center. Above this pool are spring boards and two huge towers that are used for water shows. Divers, synchronized swimmers and acrobats will perform shows several times during each 7-night cruise. When not in use for a show the Aqua Theatre pool will be open to guests for swimming and diving lessons.
