Myanmar River Cruising with AmaWaterways

Bagan, Myanmar

Dramatic changes have swept Myanmar after almost a half century of ruthless military rule. The new government has introduced many changes, including easing travel restrictions for foreigners. As a result, many travelers now include Myanmar on their must-see list. With beaches as pristine as Thailand’s, friendly locals, thousand year old temples and sacred pagodas (the sacred Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is topped with 4,531 diamonds), we encourage you to put it on your must-see list as well. And, what better way to see this hidden Asian gem than by cruising the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) River.

AmaWaterways has recently introduced new itineraries for Myanmar, to begin in November and December this year. The AmaPura, a newly built all-suite ship will sail the Ayeyarwady River, with a mere 56 passengers on board. Its spacious staterooms measure from 285 sq. ft. to 420 sq. ft and every suite features a private balcony.
