Discover the raw beauty of the Congo Basin on this eight day guided tour. You’ll travel to a remote part of the Congo Basin– one of the few places left that offers an authentic encounter with unspoiled wilderness. Rarely visited, this part of the Congo Basin has been deemed a WWF region and is home to the second largest tropical rainforest in the world and some of central Africa’s largest primate populations, including the western lowland gorilla.

During your tour, you’ll have the chance to see western lowland gorillas, forest buffalo, forest elephant, water birds, and much more. Tours include  4×4 drives, forest walks, and river tours by pirogue. Highlights of this tour include presentations by top western lowland gorilla researchers, gorilla tracking and wildlife viewing, stays in eco-focused safari camps, and an opportunity to make a genuine conservation impact.

Your trip starts in Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of the Congo. A city of 2 million, you’ll see hints of its French colonial heritage in its architecture and wide boulevards. Brazzaville is located in Southwest Congo, home to 70% of the country’s population.
