Avanti Destinations has recently expanded its experiential vacation packages to include destinations in Asia, offering 22 customizable travel itineraries and more than 30 city-stay packages.

You will experience Beijing’s captivating mix of old and new from the seat of a wooden rickshaw. Other highlights include a tour of the Temple of Heaven and of the Forbidden City, the world’s largest palace.

From there, you travel to Xian, home of the famed terracotta warriors. Then feel the pulse of Shanghai’s unique energy as you stroll along the Bund, taking in the most futuristic skyline in the world.

Flavors of China (12 days). On this delicious journey, you will taste your way through the country’s exotic culture and ancient history. You’ll learn to cook local dishes and visit a famous night market to see savory and strange offerings. Try your hand at dumpling making, preparing Sichuan cuisine, and deletable dim sum.

While in Beijing, you’ll learn to make tofu, explore the food markets, and try your hand at preparing classic Chinese dishes, in addition to seeing the city’s must-see tourist destinations. Your visit to Chengdu brings the opportunity to learn all about hot pot cooking (plus a visit to a giant panda research and breeding center!) and learn the ins and outs of the city’s famed chili sauce.
