Itinerary at a Glance

DAY 1: Arrive in Brisbane, Australia

Arrive by 4:00 p.m. in time for a welcome meeting and dinner.

DAY 2: Brisbane

Excursion to the Australia Zoo includes a behind-the-scenes tour of the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. Have your photo taken with a koala.

DAY 3: Brisbane

Free day to spend at your leisure.

DAY 4: Brisbane – Cairns

Fly to Cairns, the Gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Visit the Cairns Aquarium and enjoy a 3-course dinner.

DAY 5: Cairns

Board a catamaran for a scenic cruise to the Outer Great Barrier Reef (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Options include snorkeling, a glass-bottom-boat tour, and an underwater observatory visit.

DAY 6: Cairns

Free day to spend at your leisure.

DAY 7: Cairns – Uluru

Fly to Uluru, Australia’s red center and enjoy a sunset visit Ayers Rock (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

DAY 8: Uluru – Alice Springs

Scenic drive through the Outback to Alice Springs, followed by a private guided tour of the Kangaroo Sanctuary. Optional activity: Sunrise camel ride across the red sand dunes to view Ayers Rock (additional cost).

DAY 9: Alice Springs – Adelaide

Join a guided sightseeing tour that includes the School of the Air and the Old Telegraph Station. Afterwards, fly to Adelaide with free time for the remainder of the day.

DAY 10: Adelaide

Ferry ride to Kangaroo Island for a tour of Seal Bay Conservation Park with a Park Ranger to learn about the rare Australian sea lions. Explore Flinders Chase National Park to see kangaroos, wallabies, and koalas and visit Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. 

DAY 11: Adelaide – Melbourne

Flight to Melbourne, followed by a guided tour that includes Federation Square, Parliament House, the Shrine of Remembrance, Queen Victoria Market, and beautiful Fitzroy Gardens.

DAY 12: Melbourne

Travel to Phillips Island to visit the Koala Conservation Center and observe the famous Penguin Parade.

DAY 13: Melbourne

Free day to spend at your leisure.

DAY 14: Melbourne – Cradle Mountain National Park

Fly to Launceston and then drive to Cradle Mountain National Park in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage area (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Wildlife presentation by a Local Specialist.

DAY 15: Cradle Mountain National Park

Guided sightseeing includes a visit to Ronny Creek Boardwalk and Dove Lake with an optional trail walk. In the evening, enjoy a behind-the-scenes visit to  the Devils@Cradle sanctuary to learn about the famous Tasmanian Devil.

DAY 16: Cradle Mountain National Park – Hobart

Scenic drive from Cradle Mountain National Park to Hobart with free time upon arrival.

DAY 17: Hobart

View waterfalls, rock formations, deep-sea caves, and the chance to spot whales, dolphins, and seals on a scenic cruise of the Tasman Peninsula. Afterward, go on a walking tour with a Local Guide at Port Arthur Historic Site (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) to learn about Australia’s convict past. 

DAY 18: Hobart – Sydney

Fly to Sydney and upon arrival, enjoy guided sightseeing that includes the financial district, Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, the botanic gardens, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, followed by a walking tour with a Local Guide at the Sydney Opera House.

DAY 19: Sydney

Free day to spend at your leisure. Optional activities: Take a surfing lesson or have lunch at famous Bondi Beach (additional costs).

DAY 20: Sydney

Free day to spend at your leisure before a farewell dinner at a local restaurant this evening.

Day 21: Sydney

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
